shoot
lucy (originally named sinister pig) was an idea conceived in a basement
in st. paul, mn
(as well as in a number of bars over many beers) back in 1996. after screwing
around
with instruments in the three-chord garage band vicious innuendo, dave
berntson,
jeff fox and chris berg decided to form a band that might actually play
in public.
we soon formed sinister pig, and debuted new years eve, 1996 at a house
party.
soon after, steve schultz replaced jeff on drums, and the nucleus of the
band
that would become shoot lucy was formed. For a band whose only goal was
to play once in a bar,
we played over 100 shows in our first five years, in 31 venues in three
states, in front of over 25,000
total people. not bad for a bunch of guys who didn’t know how to tune
a guitar when we started.
